From a Greyhound bus to a hospitality family.

1970
Twenty dollarsP.C. Amin leaves his farming village in India, crosses the sea, and steps off a Greyhound bus in Richmond with $20 in his pocket.
1978
The first innWith his brother-in-law B.N. Shah, he buys a bankrupt 104-room inn in Lumberton, North Carolina. "I didn't have money, but I had a dream."
2009
Short Pump HiltonThe AAA Four Diamond Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa opens. It stays the region's newest full-service hotel for nearly two decades.
2020
Sixty hotelsThe Hyatt Place Richmond Chester becomes hotel #60, and Shamin moves its headquarters into downtown Richmond's Times-Dispatch building.
2025
Springline groundbreakingWork begins on The Mondelle, the largest hotel and conference center ever built in Chesterfield County.
2028
The Mondelle opens270 rooms, a 12,600 sq ft grand ballroom, and a rooftop infinity pool above Richmond.
